Again I am playing with creating pages in one of my home made books. I started the journal the first day of the year and have been daily journaling a week at a time on the double page that I created awhile ago...

this is the first week that I am journaling on.....

and this spread I am preparing for column journaling....this is a tangle doodle..... I love doing all this but with the cast on it makes it slower and my hand writing is definitely difficult to read some days !!!!!!

I am participating in the Summer Card Camp and next week is the last week. They have had some great tutorials, sketches and loads and loads of inspiration. This is the first card I have been able to make. And love the color combinations. It reminds me of fall. And as hot as it has been in East Tennessee this summer, the coolness will be a pleasant relief.

Happy New Year

A simple card but used a different medium that I have been wanting to try for awhile. I first colored the bird and back ground with Pan Pastels.... they are a creamy caulk that is so smooth and easy to use. And best of all is that they don't rub off. Then to give some more color i took my Prismacolor Color Pencils and highlighted and some shading. I like the look of this technique and enjoyed coloring again for fun.

I am going to be busy this month. I have a day time and night time Stamp A Stack and then 2 Saturdays for open Crop Times and another Saturday I am having a Coloring Afternoon. So I have some preping to do.

It is wonderful to be doing what I love to do everyday and having a great time.

I have even done 2 scrapbook pages and was going to take pics and post them on here but couldn't get them to show right .... I order to get them in frame on camera they were 2 far away to really see them. So help !!!!!!!! I don't have my camera home to tell you what I am using but I will get the specs and then maybe someone can help me.

I am really considering doing a Project Life 2011 and record daily..... I also have picked a word for the year to use as incentive and purpose.... That word is for me this year productive..... I have a house that has been negelected for a couple of years and a yard that need some TLC. So I have lots and lots that need to do.

So lots and lots of projects to keep me busy and PRODUCTIVE.....

Wanted to share some pictures with everyone to help explain some of my absence in the past several months.

First I had a total hip replacement in June and Tuesday of this week I opened a family store in the small town where I live and my niece and I are working it. We had help from nephew and his wife too. They are gone now so she and I have it all alone now. So very long hours and hurting feet at the end of the day.

I moved all my card making and scrapbooking things here and will be selling some supplies and having classes. Also selling my card as well.

First thing I want to do is thank all our participates of our challenges. We have more and more each week and we are loving it.

This week’s challenge was an impossible one for me. The challenge is to use your favorite stamp. Out of all of the wonderful stamps in Digi Doodle Shop, to have a favorite is not possible. I heard so many of the Digi Doodle Shop’s Best design team say the same thing. So I just picked one I loved and made this card with it.

I took the picture outside in the HOT sunshine. I love the flowers and the shadow they made on the card.

I colored the card with my Copic markers and cut the image and the pattern paper with my rectangle deckle nestie. It is my favorite of the nestibilities that I have.

The challenge this week is, Punch Me, create using punches or die cuts. I can’t wait to see what all the other DT have created.

I used one of the single butterflies from the set of Butterfly and Cherry Background paper. I colored with my Copic Markers. I used the Spellbinder die cuts #1 in graduated sizes and used designer paper from PTI and cards stock from SU. I did do something different here and that is to use my white gel pen to make accenting dots. I love the dimension that this gives. Hope you all enjoy !!!!

OH my gosh, it has been so long !!! I am finally almost back to normal again. And after tomorrow hopefully will be able to walk with a cane and not my walker. I feel like a new woman. No more pain !!!!! I will have some bending limitations for several more month but it is all so worth it. Thank you ALL for your well wishes and prayers.
Today’s Digi Doodle Shop’s Best Challenge is “Anything Goes”. So after you finish here please go there and link your creation up so we can all see it and leave you some “love”.
For my card I chose the cherry background paper and the cherry stamp which comes all in the same bundle ( here is the link ). This also comes with a butterfly background paper and a single butterfly stamp to go with it. And believe it or not the whole set is only $1.88 for the month of July. Except for some custom stamps, some stamps are 50% off for the rest of the month of July. So now is the time to get some of the stamps on your wish list.

I colored the background cherries with SU markers and a blender pen. And the main cherry with copics and highlighted it with while gel pen. Yesterday I forced myself to create something. I had these 2 beautiful stamps from Digi Doodle Shop already colored with my Copics and thought a piece of my new October Afternoon “Fly A Kite” paper looked good with them. So I made 2 cards using the same papers. The polka dot dolie and square I cut with my Cricut using Papertrey Ink “Bitty Dot Basics”. Cards are 4 1/4 X 4 1/2

So I do believe my mojo is on its way back.

After some discouraging time this week with the Digi Doodle Shop having technical problems, it is finally open for business as usual. Judy is so very sorry for all the inconveniences this caused her customers and fans. Her wonderful newsletter didn’t go out on Monday so the June specials are surprises. I have a feeling it might have something to do with the men in our lives. And I also think there is another Summer Sets Special.

So that means WOYWWAC. I do enjoy snooping and looking at everyone’s work space. Mine is not very interesting lately because my mojo for right now is gone and haven’t made in any thing in several days. I finally got the wonder paper from October Afternoon – Thift Shop and Fly a Kite and now I am in a slump…. here are a few shots of my craft room this morning.

For my card I used the cute image of Duncan with Owen. The images just says to me “I love you this much” and I was thinking about Father’s Day .

I colored Duncan and Owen with my Copic Markers and cut them out using my deckle rectangle nestie. The card base is SU More Mustard and the patterned paper is from Making Memories – Just Chilling 6X6 pack. The sentiment I created and printed. I applied Old Paper-Ranger Distressed Ink around all edges.

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge Blog

On this card I used 2 of Digi Doodle Shop Stamps. I used the Rooster and the Hens and Chicks. I love watching little chicks and the hens watching out for them. They are just too cute and Judy’s mom, Joy, sure has created them so life like. I colored them with my Copic Markers and stamped the background with the PTI background stamp, geographic backgrounds. I thought it looked like chicken wire. The sentiment I created on my computer.

This week at The Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge blog we are having an “ANYTHING GOES” challenge! The winner will get a $10.00 gift certificate to the shop and with 250 stamps I am certain will have no problem finding wonderful images of their liking. This card I made using an stamp from Digi Doodle Shop. I loved it for a Father’s Day card and when my grandson asked me to make him one to give to his dad I knew this was the image.

Another card for Father’s Day or male birthday … there is no sentiment so can be used for anything.

That is what the Digi Doodle Shop’s Best challenge is for this week. A creation with glitter or sparkle or both.

Our design team has really out done themselves this week and we can’t wait to see what all you paper crafters have for us this week.

We had a wonderful participation last week of out ribbon challenge and look forward to seeing everyone creations again this week. I want to say thank you to each and everyone of your wonderful ladies for taking the time to join our challenges. All of your creations are such an inspiration to us all.

This week I tarried from my normal style and created a card with only 2 layers and lots of glitter. When I asked for a suggestion as to what to do this week, Judy, the owner and one of the creators of the wonderful stamps in Digi Doodle Shop, suggested doing something like this.

The firecracker has one of the doodle blooms shooting out of it. I thought was a fabulous idea. I printed and then colored the stamp and cut it out. I stamped with a red rubber stamp the firecracker and colored with Copic Markers and also use some of the Spica Markers on the firecracker and the flowers. My glitter part comes from the firework swirls and the stars. I used my SU 2 way glue and painted the SU stamps with the glue and then stamped on the SU cardstock. I covered the glue with Diamond Dust Glitter and then shook off excess. I was surprised at how it worked so well. I have never had good results with glitter and just don’t use it, so this is a new technique for me. I then added some white gel pen highlighting marks around the stars and in parts of the swirls. Tied a bow with some very thin red,white, and blur ribbon I had in my ribbon collection.

I have been watching this site for awhile and think I will play along this week…. last night I went to my Tuesday Nights Shoebox swap group. We had 7 there and made some beautiful things but I came home and just dumped the stuff out of my bag… so here you have it ….. i guess I should be embarrassed to show such a mess but it sure doesn’t always look like this.. sometimes it is even worse…. next time on Tuesday nights will have to remember not to dump bag till after Wednesday morning picture….

I so enjoy these INchie cards. They appeal to me for some reason and I just bought 2 inchie set of stamps and that is what I used today. This set has like 23 small clear stamps. You know how I love flowers so this is my first choice. I inked with Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores and adhered them to a piece of textured card stock. Under that is PTI kraft card stock and the card base is SI Confetti. The ribbon is PTI Hawaiian Shores twill . Sentiment from SU set Whimsical Words. Inchie Inkling Challenge #6

I had to turn it on it’s side to get it to work for me and dug through my scrap box and picked out some coordinating papers that worked with my image. I colored this imagine (YOU BETTER ALL SIT DOWN) with my Prismacolor pencils and for some highlight and glitter I added some Spica ink. . I cut the imagine with my deckle rectangle nestie.

Digi Doodle Shop’s Best Challenge #7

Another happy Thursday which means it is challenge day for Digi Doodle Shop’s Best. This weeks challenge is to use ribbon on your creation. Since ribbon is one of my favorite things that was really a no brainer for me.

I colored one of a set of images. The set is called 1900 & 1920 Vintage Dresses. Because of the May special this set is on sale for $2.13. What a deal !!!!!! I am copying directly from my friend Leigh Ann's blog ..... I am so glad that she blogged this because I had no idea that these wonderful women have taken the initiative to help some of mine and Leigh Ann's distant neighbors..... Leigh Ann's words ....

"Jen Shults and Betty Roberts have put together a digital image set to help the victims of the Nashville flooding. This set is $15 and 100% of the proceeds will go the the Nashville Red Cross to help the TN flood victims. My area of Tennessee was not hit hard like the Nashville area and I feel so fortunate. The majority of the people affected do not have flood insurance. Can you imagine if you lost everything?

Another Thursday and boy does the week flying by. I am so excited at the number of participates that we had last week and want to congratulate the winners and also the winner of the Custom Stamp. And all the people who participated and I am just looking forward to seeing all of last weeks participates again this week.

2 Peas In A Bucket had their Hero Arts Stamps on sale and I took the opportunity to get some that I had been looking at. I made this card right away when I opened up my package. The stamp is Garden Silhouette. And the sentiment is from the Poly Clear set Life Is Not Perfect.

I stamped the stamp in SU Real Red on a page from an old hymnal and then tore it out. I made the flower by cutting out 3 flower and distressed them with the Real Red ink and Antique Linen. Red buttons from my button collection. I tied the button with twine. The pp is from Close to My Heart but have no idea what the name is . The card base is PTI Kraft Cardstock.

It is graduation time in Tennessee. A good friend of mine has 2 relatives graduating from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She asked me to make her 2 cards for them. SoI made them and am hoping they like them . The stamp set is retired SU. And the card stock is also SU. The orange is Only Orange. I printed the back ground text paper.

She has just added new critter stamps to her store. I chose the beautiful polar bear and the sentiment to go with it. This is a beautiful set as all of Frenzified stamps are. This card is my take on the sketch . I have altered it just a tiny bit but that is allowed. I printed the polar bear on a piece of white card stock and then cut it down to 3X3 and then I colored her with my Copic Markers. I cut the image into 4 equal parts . I mounted the four squares onto SU Chocolate Chip cs. and the patterned paper I bought on sale at local SS and it didn’t have a name on it but I love the brown and pink which matches SU color of Melon Mombo which is the ribbon I used and I turned the polka dots on the inside. I cut the sentiment out with scalloped punch and adhered it to a round piece of Melon Mombo cs. I distressed around all edges with my fave Ranger Distress Ink – Antique Linen. Chopped the corner and there you have it.

My nephew and his wife are having a baby girl and the shower is Sunday so my SIL asked me to make her a card for the present. And this is the card I made. Inchie Inkling Challenge #4

I am absolutely loving doing these Inchie Inkling Challenges. I have admired the “inchie” concept for a long time and so glad they are doing a challenge now. The challenges are posted every Thursday. So go check it out and have fun with it.

The stamp set I used was my new ippity set called Music of my Heart. The ink is the the new PTI Hawaiian Shores, and Adirondack Light – Lake Mist. The card base is PTI kraft and patterned paper is PTI Green Boutique. I used the music stamp and stamped it then cut out flower with SU 5 pedal flower punch and distressed around all the edges with scissors and then inked with same Lake Mist. The button is PTI Hawaiian Shores and twine is from stash.

I changes the sketch up a little as you can see.

Granddaughter’s Birthday Card & Mo’s DP2 Challenge Sketch

This challenge is for Mo’s DP2 Challenge sketch. I love sketches so decided to make the birthday card using the sketch. I love Mo’s digital stamps and this one is perfect for my granddaughter who will be 13 this Saturday the 24th. She has a permanent cell phone attached either to her ear or thumbs.

I used some K & Co patterned paper pack for the circle and one strip down the side, the cardstock is all SU cardstock. I colored the stamp with multi Copic Markers and also colored the flowers with 2 different colors and since I didn’t have any of the right color rhinestones I colored the plain ones to my shade of green. The pink ribbon is American Craft. I attached it by punching 2 holes and threading it thru and then tying. I used my white gel pen and free hand designed around the border and the circle.

I just love doing these Inchies….And here is sketch challenge #3.

It is a chance to use some of the really small stamps that I love… These stamps are part of a set of Clear Stamps. And the Designer Paper is Cosmo Cricket - Garden Variety. The sentiment is from another really small set that I lost the name of long ago. I took my white gel pen and stitched around it to give a little more dimension. It is very simple and easy card. I had lots of fun doing.

My Wonderful Friend Kym

gave me these 2 awards for being an inspiration to her. I surely do not deserve these awards because SHE is the daily inspiration and incentive I need everyday. And not only me but lots and lots of others on this wonderful cyber world of crafting "Kreations" as Kym calls them.

Kym's Kreations are always perfect and right on.... her use of color and embellishments are beyond words. She is on several design teams and has lots of deadlines and she will not miss any of them.

WE co-coordinate on Digi Doodle Shop's Best Design Team.... she makes it fun but also is an invaluable asset to me and the team. She is a wonderful, caring, talented, and intelligent lady. And I could just go on but think her head is probably big enough by now. I am sure that everyone that knows her will agree with me about Kym.

Inchie INKling Sketch Challenge #2

I just love using Inchie stamps and now that they have a weekly sketch challenge I have a very good reason to make a card.... I also needed a Birthday card for a crafty friend of mine so I made this birthday card for her and also for the challenge.

The base card is Papertrey Ink kraft paper and a piece of retired SU cardstock that I don't know the name of but was the perfect color and the red is SU Real Red. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket - Material Girl. The stamp set is SU - Quilt Quips which is also retired. I also used a retired SU background stamp called SU Chocolate Chip Ink and a tiny piece of twine from my stash finished off the card.

It is a fabulous day here in East Tennessee and I am going outside in a bit and taking picture of all the trees and flowers in bloom…. I will share our beauty with you.

I made this card the other day because I had colored these daffodils from Digi Doodle Shop and had the gate card folded already so put some Basic Grey Lemonade PP on the PTI yellow card stock and here you have it….

So here is my card using a gate fold and the stamp “Butterfly Blossoms” from Digi Doodle Shop. I colored the image with my Copic Markers and little felt flowers and the butterfly were from my stash. They were given to me from my secret sister in New Zealand, her name is Tilly. Thank you again Tilly.

I took the picture in the wonderful morning sun and love the effect of the shadows.

Digi Doodle Shop Stamp

I did this card awhile back but never posted it so this is a good time. I colored my stamp with my Primacolor Pencils and cut it out. Paper is from my scrap box.

You must go to the Digi Doodle Shop. Judy and her mother have added some beautiful stamps today and some really cute animals. Tomorrow is the second challenge for the store so you want to check it all out.

Digi Doodle Shop has challenge at PCP Group

Digi Doodle Shop has a group at Paper Craft Planet. We would love to have everyone come on over and join and group and just chat and do the simple little challenges and games we will be doing. Right now we have a tag challenge of using a Digi Doodle Stamps, 1 button, 2 rhinestones, 3 words and make a tag. Upload it to your comment there and a winner will be chosen the 19th of April. I think there might be a prize involved as well.

I used a stamp from Digi Doodle Shop and colored it with Copic Spica Glitter Markers and distressed the tag and background paper with Ranger Distress Ink – Faded Jeans. The blue rhinestones on the sentiment tag are from stash as are the buttons. The pink floss is from my stash of floss. I love using it because I have lots of colors and they are so soft and pliable.

I also want to remind everyone that tomorrow is the last day for the Digi Doodle Shop’s Challenge. So if you haven’t made your challenge card yet you better hurry and get it posted.

Tilda - Birthday card

I made this Tilda - Birthday card because I love Tilda stamps. And now I have a challenge to enter it in.... http://magnolia-licioushighlites.blogspot.com/2010/04/april-magnolia-licious-sketch.html. The sketch is a simple one and this card fits it very well.

I colored Tilda with my Copic Markers and when i changed my craft room around I lost my Copic Marker list. The papers I believe are SU right out of my scraps.

Inchie Challenge

Finally…. Digi Doodle Shop’s Challenge #1

We have all been waiting for this day for a long time and it is finally here.

Digi Doodle Shop is open and waiting for you to go there and look around at all the wonderful stamps that Judy and her mother have created for us. And while you are there make sure you sign up for the soon to be released newsletter . I am so excited and honored to be part of the talented and wonderful design team of Digi Doodle Shop. We have some of the most talented ladies in this wonderful world of papercrafting.

Today is the debut of Digi Doodle Shop’s Best Design Team. We will have weekly challenges every Thursday. And each month will have a theme and each week something different to do using the same theme throughout the month.

This week the challenge is to create a card using the theme of Easter/Spring. Here is my creation -

I used Digi Doodle Stamp called Boy Bunny and water colored him with SU inks and a aqua pen. I have not water colored before but thought he turned out pretty good. The papers are PTI yellow and a piece of Egg Hunt Patterned papers. I cut out some of the butterflies from the paper and added them with dimensionals. I tied a piece of variegated embroidery floss.

Another great sketch challenge from Sketch Girl, Leigh Ann. I love doing sketches. They take part of the creating process and make it a lot easier. I colored the bunny with my Copic Markers. The papers are from Basic Grey "Lemonade" and i believe it is the valentines collection from My Minds Eye. I cut the image with my rectangle deckle nestibilites and distressed around the edge with Ranger Distress Ink "Antique Linen". The flower is a SU scallop punch and a circle punch is what the sentiment is stamped with the "Antique Linen" Distressed Ink. The two rhinestones were from my stash.

Sketch Girl Challenge Blog

I am so honored…..

My friend Kym gave me this award. She is such a beautiful person I cherish her friendship. We met online on a DT team and then had a chance to met in person when she and hubby pasted thru East Tennessee on their way to the beach and vacation. We had dinner and talked and talked. She is such a wonderful friend and such a blessing and inspiration for me. Thank you Kym for this honor of your friendship and this award.

Now I am suppose to tell you 10 things about myself that you probably don’t know.

Well, here goes…..

1. I have traveled and lived in many different places and countries.

2. I am 4’11” making me as wide as I am tall.

3. I just retired as a social servicer worker for Head Start

4. Was in the second class for Operating Room Techs. I trained and worked at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii

5. I live in the 70 year old house I grew up in. It is very old and antique like me.

6. I play an online game called World of Warcraft

7. I have 2 grown children and 2 wonderful grandchildren. All live close to me .

8. Judy (the owner of Digi Doodle Shop) and I have met in real life before. It is a very small world.

9. I watch all the Law & Order shows.

10. I listen to audio books and love the crime thrillers ones.

OK that is done and I have to say that it was a hard thing to find 10 things people don’t know about me. Nest step is to pass this award on to some friends that inspire me.

Perfect Presentations - Top Notch

For the box and card I used SU Summer Sun card stock and the white picket fence was with the Easter Basket template that is for sell too. The vegetable paper is from Cosmo Cricket "Garden Variety". I cut out some of the vegetables and attached them with dimensionals . The ribbon is a piece of SU old olive. The sentiment I printed from my computer. The labels are also templates that Leigh Ann has created but not for sale yet.

Custom Stamps from Digi Doodle Shop

Digi Doodle Shop will open April 1, 2010. I am so excited for the first challenge of the new Design Team for Digi Doodle Shop's Best. We will have challenges every week and will be having so much fun that I hope all of you join us.

Judy the owner of the shop asked me for pictures of my 2 doggies because she was going to carry custom stamps in her shop. So of course I jumped at the chance and it wasn't but like a day later that she gave me the digital stamps of my dogs. I cried when I got them because they are wonderful images and their spirits were captured as well....

Here is a collection of cards I have made lately. The distressed one above I swear is the same color ribbon as the hydrangea but it sure doesn't look like it in photo . At least the one beside is is the right color. The large bunny is a stamp off my friend Kathy stamped of me. I love that stamp. I colored him with Copic Markers and the hydrangeas as well. The other hope you day is fabulous is a stamp set my friend Kathy gave me. I love it and has other filler stamps. It is a RS Tapestry Clear Stamp and I don't see ant other name on it. Great stamp. Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
