AprilCAGI Sketch2

I love sketches and this one for sure.  This is my second week in participating in the challenges at the Come and Get It Challenge Blog.  This has become so much fun again for me.  I was really looking forward to the challenge this week.

For this card I used SU Crumb Cake, Baja Blue and The Very Vanilla Card Stock. I stamped the Penny Black image from the Critter Party Clear Stamp Set, with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I colored the small image with my Copic Markers.  The buttons in the corner are from my stash and tied with some vanilla colored twine.

So please hop on over there and check out the DT’s inspiration cards and make one of your own and show us.  Challenges are so much fun you won’t believe it…..

Come and Get It Challenge and DT Call

My online friend Shell invited me to enter the challenge at this challenge site called Come and Get It Challenge.  This site is looking for another Design Team member from the entries.  So after a lot of thought about the time constraints I decided to go ahead and enter.  I am a card maker and what a good incentive to get more cards made if I should happen to be chosen for the Design Team and if I don’t then I have a beautiful card made and will continue to follow and do the challenges.

So here is the card I made.  The challenge was to use the three colors.

April Colors

I knew I had the perfect plum and pear pizzaz but wasn’t sure about baja breeze but when I got to the CafĂ© and my shop I found a small card base of the baja breeze.  So I grabbed my ink pads and  a SU stamp set, that a girlfriend let me use for my card classes.  I cannot find the name and it is in a different place than I am …so if anyone knows which one it is please let us know.  Here is my clean and simple  card using the colors from the challenge .

Journal made from cereal box

I have collected a few cereal boxes to make some homemade journals.  Last week I blogged about that being on my to do list to make a journal for my free class on time .  Then today Faber-Castell posted a green challenge for making something using an egg carton,  cereal box or a coffee cup sleeve.  Well I just had started the journal with my cereal box as the cover…. So I love when 2 or 3 things come together …….

The cover I covered first with pieces of Cosmo Cricket papers from the Odds and Ends Collection……  I chose it because of the circles which represent to me never ending ……. as in time or clock with no hands, ring, and a black hole and will add more to my cover as they come to me.  So if anyone has a suggestion to add just make a comment and tell me……  I then painted with clear gesso and on to acrylic paints.  Then I used the Faber- Castell  PITT artist pen big brush to add shading around the outside and inside of the circle…… I love them for that….. I almost forgot I had used my Cinch to bind the sketch, water color and  mix media papers I had cut to put in my journal.

OK here are the pictures and I will post a final one on the Faber-Castell Facebook to enter to win some of their produces.

Today is the the Big Day

I am co-hosting the Creativity Queue Challenge : Day No. 6 at Daisy Yellow Blog.   Tammy has some great unusual challenges.  I thought I would co-host so that I would be forced to make a commitment to make myself look at all the unfinished and the “when I get time” things that I want and need to do.  And one other very important project I would like to get done and that is to  get my blog active and noticed again.  Even all my friends have abandoned it.  So I am hoping that this challenge will give my blog a little kick start.

For all the specifics on what to do to participate it is simpler if you go here and read about it.

So here goes:

1- Jump start blog

2-Make my own journal – and today is a good day to do that since I just signed up for a 3 month free course called The Creating Time Mega Event.  Need a journal for this course so trying to decide what paper to use on cover.

3-More doodling practice and use in journals.  I have been practicing but just not confident in my abilities…..  Here is one practice page.

Now these are just 3 things on my “artsy”  list but is great to take note and action.

Now come join us and check out the other great participates and show us some of your things on your to do list…..

Watch for it tomorrow–Big Challenge Post

I follow this blog everyday !!!!  She has the most interesting things going on .

So there is this challenge  called Creativity Queue Challenge……

Here is what she says which says it so much better and I can,

“YOU DEFINE YOUR CREATIVE ENDEAVORS.

Figure out how to make quiche.

Plant a patch of orange + purple pansies.

Photograph graffiti.

Organize your embroidery floss.

Here's a fun image I had while reading the thought-provoking responses to the post What is Your Focus. Imagine a HUGE round table, as big as an entire room, shaped like a bagel (or a donut, if you prefer something sweeter) and a swivel chair in the center. Divide up the table into sections, each with a favorite medium. A sewing machine with fabric on the left and paper on the right, a pile of photographs, art journaling materials, acrylics, old magazines, scissors, watercolors, inks, blank journals, a pile of cotton yarn and knitting needles, you simply turn your chair and get rolling!”

So tomorrow join me here to check out what I am doing !!!!!

See ya !!!!
